February 2013 #3

Curtain and blind are now installed in the kitchen.
The blind helps keep the heat out in summer,
and the warmth in in winter.
Pity the curtain is white on white - you can't see the design,
but it's chooks and their chickens - very country !!
Robert had to take these photos at 5.30am to get the right effect.)

February 2013

Work has begun on re-tiling the hearth in the kitchen.

First step is to remove all the broken concrete and level it off.

Then frame the space and lay a fresh concrete base.
Tiling can begin !!

My parents have arrived from NSW for a 2mth visit to Tasmania. They have made great progress in garden archaeology! They have unearthed a brick edged path, found all manner of bric-a-brac, and created rock piles, as they've weeded their way around the house perimeter. I have rewarded them with home cooked meals - which have included button squash and zucchini hidden in every dish!
Our garden is producing a bucket full of produce every day, and Robert has also brought home from work a bucket of green gage plums, which has produced 10 jars of jam and stewed plums for dessert.
